Meet Angie Brill – our latest Guest writer:
(I would be happy to post pieces from the far right on the assumption that such a piece displayed non-hateful critical thinking and actual facts – I guess hell will freeze over before that treasure is ever discovered)
The Mean Progressive is a writer on the far left whose focus is primarily the Stupidparty (who she calls Regressives). Her writing often delves into gender and racial discrimination and she has a series called Dear Media: where she assaults our ‘liberal media’ whenever she thinks they need it. Fear not, she’s only mean to people on the right.
In less than a month I am going to turn 43. With every year that passes I assess the things I have yet to achieve in my life. When I was turning 40 my daughter treated me to a Buckeye game and that took care of the #1 item on my bucket list. Last year I was focused on the length of my bucket list and determined to narrow it a bit and put the Louvre at the top. Thanks to Marco Rubio, this year it occurs to me that the Louvre should not be at the top of my list. There will be time for travel later.
As much as I have always really wanted to have an abortion, I have never had the chance. I realize now what a missed opportunity I had when I was 19 and decided to give birth to my daughter. But who would have figured that would be my last chance in life? I was young and it seemed I had my whole life ahead of me. (Besides, I would have missed that Buckeye game). But now my time is surely running out. Sooner or later my parts are going to stop working and I won’t even be able to get pregnant.

Wow! I have to say that I have never seen such lies and vitriol vented. I must confess that this is the first time I have ever seen your site. Of course, Rubio said nothing of the sort. I am so sorry that liberals don’t understand that those of us on the other side just believe that abortion is NOT birth control. You don’t get pregnant just walking down the street like you would catch a cold. Having sex is a conscious decision. Our disgust with the abortion industry is based upon our heart felt belief that you are killing a human being. It is based upon a sincere faith that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. We are saddened by the lack of humanity that continues to feed an industry like Planned Parenthood. I am shocked that an industry founded by an avowed racist like Margaret Sanger is still going strong. I am sure that she and Hitler are having a party, where ever they might be. As for all the other incorrect assumptions spouted on this site: More guns in the hands of the good guys saves more lives. Why would we need to expand Medicaid when we have Obama care and everyone can get covered AND save money? Abstinence works as a contraception 100% of the time. A rising tide will lift all boats. Capitalism is proven to lift more people out of poverty. I am sure that these few words will not cause you to have an epiphany and suddenly rethink your opinions, I would just hope that you would see that we see the world differently. Where you see an opportunity to mock our beliefs, I would hope that you would consider that our opinions have value and are based upon a sincere faith.

Wow it is great to see such ignorance posted and I am so excited that I have the answer and all the proof to your stunning ignorance right at my finger tips. My guest blogger has driven a moron from his cave thus giving me the opportunity to show you the light. Do not ever say that a God is not working in mysterious ways. You are guilty of manslaughter by ignorance and here is the proof:

It’s curious that you can reply to a post and contend Rubio didn’t say what was quoted even though the video with THOSE EXACT WORDS prefaced the quote. Your desperation to hold on to your narrow belief structure is only superseded by your ignorance.

I have no idea what you are talking about. My precise position is explained in the below link, I personally have no interest in how Rubio happens to be parsing his words today in order to raise money from morons. I can find no record of responding to you. But what is really curious to me is why you choose not to address my position on Fundermentalist Pro-lifers. So let me be absolutely clear -to avoid any further confusion:
The fact of the matter is that Pro-life fanatics are guilty of manslaughter by criminally negligent ignorance. They are responsible for causing millions and millions of avoidable fetal deaths, mother deaths and poverty and disease.
Now is this position too complex for you to respond to? Would it possible for you to reject the facts that I place before you? Can you possibly defend yourself from this serious charge?
No you would rather address a tongue in cheek blog – because you just cannot accept the facts.

Abortion…..Pure Chance?
Dear Editor.
I have been warned! This subject is definitely controversial and I have absolutely no idea how a woman feels, especially when it comes to carrying a life. True. However, it does not stop me from thinking about it and holding my own opinions.
In my short time contributing to the Beachcomber readers know I am definitely conservative so I realize, in expressing thoughts regarding abortion, I may encounter bombs coming my way. I am sure many will become angry with me, but think it through; I am only bringing up the idea. I believe the thought below will make some of you contemplate the subject further.
Suppose I do not address whether I think abortion is right or wrong, but look at it from another angle? The angle of a “gamble”.
Abort means to terminate, end, abandon, call off, halt, cancel or stop midstream right? It is impossible to decide to abort unless there is something existing to abort. Abort is not a thing….it is an action. To abort you must first have a “something” to stop.
In the case of “abortion” there are living cells (one or more) you either allow to grow or action is taken to terminate. I read a statement recently where the writer declared “more lives can be destroyed by unwanted pregnancies than by victory for protectors of nebulous clusters of cells that might or might not envelope a soul”.
Of the approximately 23,651,998 seconds in a pregnancy, at which moment do the cells become a person or have a soul? Do the cells become a person at second 1, second 913,004, second 20,006,051 or not until the day of delivery? At exactly what moment can it be stated the cluster of cells is a person? Did the doctor terminate the cluster-of-cell’s growth the second before a life began, or the second after?
One school of thought is to leave the conclusion up to the patient to determine when life begins. If that is the case, then life begins or ends at different moments in time. Others wish to leave it up to an elected official to set laws in place to establish when an abortion can be performed. Some believe life begins at conception.
We can come up with a definition of when life begins to avoid the thought of rolling the dice. I’m sure there are very educated scientists who are arrogant enough to believe their definitions of life are fact. I believe this is fact too: the exact moment of life cannot be determined; hence the definition anyone uses is only an opinion. If that is the case, then we have absolutely no idea if our gamble resulted in a life taken or not.
Lastly, the assertion above regarding that lives are ruined by unwanted pregnancies is not entirely true. I have seen lives (both the baby and new family members) that were greatly enhanced due to the process of adoption. If, after careful consideration by the mother and her advisors, she determines it is impossible for her to raise the child, she can know there are many people very willing to adopt and raise their new member of the family. I would consider adoption a better gamble and it would probably be considered for all involved…very good luck.

One should avoid labeling -you call yourself a conservative but what does mean? I may call my self a conservative, but many in America might call me a liberal, socialist or commie. The fact is that I like facts and rational thinking. So if by conservative that means that you enable the GOP on a national level – that would indicate a serious character flaw – as proven by the selection of Donald Trump – the natural result of a break down in critical thinking.
Now here you pose what appears to be rational concerns about abortion – and you are absolutely correct to have such concerns and to strive towards the mitigation of abortions. No one would argue with that. But you need to consider that virtually every other Country has dealt with this issue quite successfully (everything is relative) – with improving trends (less abortions). So why does America stand alone as the symbol of stupid on this issue. It is because fundamentalism often resulting from phony Christianity.
So let me start by making a controversial statement: Mother Theresa should not be beatified. Why? Because she was merely trying to clean up the mess that her Church created. The Catholic doctrine on birth control and abortion are despicable and have caused untold unnecessary misery. Sperm are living creatures too, weeks in the making, but try saving each one of the them. Well it is a mans world after all. The Catholic Church, long ago forgot it’s mission statement— to learn from the teachings of Jesus. No where in the bible does it discuss abortions or “life” -the bible (the old testament at least) is actually pro death and in fact seems to regard infants at less than one month (after birth) as dispensable. And this goes to the root of the problem, because fundamentalist “pro – lifers” are actually pro death- and for a multitude of reasons that create poverty, disease, death and far more abortions than would otherwise be the case. I explain the Mathematical facts here: https://stupidpartyland.com/1/post/2015/08/pro-lifers-and-religious-nutters-collide-to-commit-genocide.html
Now of course there is nothing wrong in striving to mitigate abortions, in making a personal choice not to abort and trying to persuade friends and family – but there is everything wrong in any effort to replace sex education and women’s health care with unscientific doctrine, with opinion and attempts to enforce such uncompromising doctrines on society. Such efforts are proven to be massively counter productive, to be deadly. Therefore being adamantly Pro- life is actually being pro death, and such fundamentalists are guilty of a form of manslaughter and they are the ones with blood on their hands. If you want to know the solution, it is hardly difficult -just check out what every single other developed Country does, solutions that in time could theoretically be enhanced to help of the all the people who are trying to reduce abortions, by using their brains, not the absurdly right wing (conservative) American gut. A gut that brings a mindless bigot to the titular head of the Stupipdarty. Time to stand up and be counted, learn the facts.
