Guest post by Matthew 7:1 –
Matthew 7:1, admin of Imaginary Gay Agenda, came out to three people today, and each person reacted the same way.
“Are you kidding? We knew you were gay years ago…why are you just now telling us? You know everybody who ever met you knows you are a card-carrying homosexual, right?”
I was shocked! I had prepared my nerves for this moment and time and again they reacted as though it was no news at all. They yawned and acted like it was the most blasé thing they had ever heard, told me we should have dinner sometime, and wanted to know what was on the gay agenda for today.
One of them actually said, “You do know that almost everybody has gaydar, they just don’t talk about it openly.”
It was certainly not what I had expected when I picked up the phone today…
Ok now for the real confession: This never happened. Because this is the scenario if people were actually being honest about sexuality. But people aren’t! They will act surprised, as if your news is actual news. They will say, “I had no idea! You don’t strike me as somebody who is gay,” or “Why do the good ones always have to be gay?” Society is not honest about sexuality. They don’t talk openly about the fact that most people are aware when a person is of the homosexual persuasion. They will pretend, and act polite, and when you leave the room there will be a heated debate among certain circles as to who you last slept with, if you are a top or a bottom, or if you are leading a double life. They’ll make wagers and snicker about their theories, and they will often be correct! Because sexuality is not as mysterious and misunderstood as society would lead one to believe. Society is the one leading the double life. Society STILL has a problem admitting the obvious in regards to sexuality.
