It would appear that Hillary Clinton is no rocket Scientist. It really depresses me to say that.
I have adamantly refused to take sides on the Clinton v Sanders question. I have attacked any Democrat who sought to undermine either candidate in order to bolster their preferred choice. I pride myself on being strategically prescient as to what is best course to ensure that Stupidparty loses the 2016 elections. But I have never been able to truly figure out if having a more progressive candidate would make it more likely for the Democrats to win the presidential election. This unknown scares me. Bernie -if he has one main weakness—a lack of strategic thinking about gun control. Perhaps Hillary’s weakness is too much concern about strategy, at the expense of standing tall.

I always argued that Hillary lost against Obama as a result of not standing tall. In my mind she did two things wrong that I found very upsetting. 1) Believe it or not there are racists in the Democratic party. In trying to win various states in the primary, Hillary was keen to secure the racist vote in places like West Virginia. What she should have done is said the following — “If you do not want to vote for Obama simply because he is black, then I do not want your vote -I do not want racists voting for me.” How tough is that? If Hillary had stood tall, I believe she would have beaten Obama in 2008. 2) The other thing she did wrong was to imply that McCain would be a better commander-in-chief than Obama. That line of attack was simply unacceptable.
Now, one can put this down to rookie mistakes, defeat making you stronger, yada yada yada. Hillary certainly did a great deal to atone for herself by the way she rallied behind Obama and then served diligently in the Obama administration. I have a great deal of respect for Hillary and Bill Clinton -they were both young idealists, both wanting to make life better for every one – especially for those outside their tribe. This can not be said for any of the stupidparty candidates who are all puppets for the oligarchs, or Trump who is an oligarch.
I have a great deal of respect for what Hillary has achieved politically and for her tour de force during the Benghazi hearings – turning the tables, the hunted becoming the hunter and successfully mauling her ghastly and stunningly dishonest oppressors.
I still adamantly refuse to take a position as to whether she should be the candidate. So it is within this context that I find myself totally bewildered by her recent strategic error. It is massive and game changing. She sends her daughter out to attack Bernie Sanders on health care. Really? Is there life on Mars –
or at least in the Hillary campaign team?
It’s a god-awful small affair
To the girl with the mousy hair
But her mummy is yelling “No”
And her daddy has told her to go
Chelsea Clinton, like her mother is smart, and smart enough to know that this attack is dishonest. But it’s worse than dishonest – it is strategically stupid and the one thing we here at Stupidparty Math V Myth can not tolerate is stupidity. It is so stupid that one must ask 1) has Hillary learned nothing from her 2008 failure and 2) has she become so establishment that she has lost her desire to be a true reformer, truly interested in salvaging America’s destitute democracy, truly interested in reversing America’s unsustainable income discrepancy trends; 3) could she be so strategically inept that she could actually lose to which ever Stupidparty moron she finds herself running against?
We all know that Obamacare, whilst a great achievement, is far from ideal. Progressives and all critical thinkers understand that there was no mathematical argument against the public option. The reason why the public option failed was down to pure political corruption. The public option would then have evolved in to a mainly single payer approach. The single payer approach would save everyone a ton of money, plus provide universal health care. Bernie Sanders has been the main proponent of the single payer approach. All one has to figure out is what are other Countries doing right. Believe me this should not be a tough question.

So when Chelsea Clinton talks about Sanders taking away peoples health care – she is being dishonest. When Hillary questions how the tax payer will pay for the single payer, she is being disingenuous. The fact of the matter is that Americans by refusing to embrace the single payer approach are paying 50% more for their healthcare than necessary. So here is the Clinton’s big con—look your taxes will go up!!!!. Deh, of course they will, but that only sounds bad because the cost of ones health care today is not defined as a tax.

Can you figure out why US healthcare is such a waste of money?
Who the hell is Hillary trying to con? We are not talking about kidding idiotic stupidparty base voters who still believe that if you sail to the horizon you will fall off, that the moon landing was faked – we are talking about the polar opposite, progressive activists – most of whom would prefer the public option or the single payer approach. Most of these activist voters are quite capable of seeing through this absurd sleight of hand trick that Hillary is trying to play. I have to question Hilary’s sanity -what the hell was she thinking? This error, if allowed to fester, could well totally change the Democratic primary race. Unless Hillary pulls out of this tail spin – this could be a campaign that is suddenly handed over to Bernie Sanders. A campaign that would be Bernie’s to lose.
Ground control to major Tom, take your protein pills and put your helmet on- tell mission control that Hillary needs to abort this mission now – or her campaign will turn into Apollo 13.
(In tribute to David Bowie -an epic talent)

Smartly written.
Please check spelling of “cannot”. Repeated error was distracting.
Done
I don’t think your choice of language is helpful. “blow” really? You know HCRers are going to jump on that if they can. Using the explosion of a shuttle craft in which scientists died? I’m not happy about that, though I am happy Hillary is failing.
Obviously, I agree with a lot of the analysis.
I agree about the space shuttle… Made me think twice about whether to share. Bad choice of graphic on very good article.
Although I agree with the writer that Hillary has earned respect in her political career, I believe the writer is delusional that she has the same level of honesty, integrity, passion and lack of cunning ambition that Bernie has. He is the same politician he ever was and that is, in itself, an incredible accomplishment. Bernie will win hands down because people are on fire for real progress and the Clintons are establishment business as usual. Time for Corporate Capitalism to whither die and an embrace to heal with Social Democracy.
I will not allow this site to become a forum for Bernie V Hillary nonsense
Thank you!
Thank you for that. I have been dismayed to see my hard earned cash that I donated to both of these fine candidates be used to attack each other. My next check won’t be sent until the nominee has been decided.
Oh Patrick, you hit the nail on the head for me! When I heard Chelsea say Bernie wants to disable the ACA& take away children’s coverage, my heart sank. Surely Hillary will correct that statement, I thought. But she didn’t. Instead she doubled down. Then I got mad! How could she say such a blatant lie to us? All the leaps and bounds she’s made since 2008 were like instantly thrown away. I’m just so disappointed and worried how this will affect the democratic party.
And I’m in total agreement with you and everything you’ve said here. Which means there’s probably alot of dems feeling the same way right now. Thanks for verbalizing the problem here.
