A Challenge, a Seven Point Plan: For Bernie’s most Devout, most Suicidal Fans!

I have not endorsed either Bernie or Hillary and I prevent my writers from getting over excited over either candidate- especially if done so at the expense of the other.

The reasons for this should be bloody obvious -but of course people have blind spots, especially when they allow emotion to conquer rational thinking.  Many blogs refuse to touch this issue for fear of upsetting some very unstable people. I my self am sitting on analysis that might offend.

This blog, understands that calls for moderation will get rejected by extremists (deh)  so I have decided that I  will beat you guys to the pass and I will make you an offer that you will not be able to refuse, even though you might be head over heals in love with your own intellectual prowess. This is an offer that can only be refused by a Bernie stalker who feels that unless you and only you can have him all to yourself- that Bernie must be destroyed.

Nothing makes me more agitated than Bernie Sanders supporters who say “Bernie or Bust” —it is not simply that they are busting Bernie, damaging his reputation, harming his actual goals, my contempt runs deeper than that. Supposedly progressive minds, critical thinkers who are stupider (strategically) than Stupidparty disciples –dooming this country to a world where false equivalence reigns, thus allowing Stupidparty to rule. These are the most dangerous harmful people in the political realm, people who allow false equivalence to destroy facts. And yes please spare me -I am fully aware of how corrupt our democracy is  – how we are either already an Oligarchy, or about to become an Oligarchy. I am as angry as hell -and I am working harder than you to do something about it.

Progressives who bitterly complain that Hillary lies -are just voicing an opinion, I do dislike opinions, especially when I happen to have the facts here. This intellectual laziness is unforgivable when coming from supposed critical thinkers, when people have bothered to research the issue -and such information is readily available.

Obviously I realize that in many “Bernie or Bust” cases it is all talk (you just do not know it yet)  –no decent person would actually facilitate Trumps rise. But this infantile lack of strategic sense is also such a waste of a golden opportunity. While it remains absolutely fine and actually great for people to remain determined to help Bernie secure the nomination – people must realize that his ambition remains a long shot (now do no not get all stupidparty on me) – they need to have a plan B. That plan is obvious –if Hillary becomes the nominee what can we do to ensure that she is a progressive as possible?

Well the answer is bloody obvious. First you absolutely must not make yourself irrelevant to the process by bitterly running off into stupidparty caves and consoling yourself with all the bigots already taking up that space. Launching hateful attacks on Hillary will only result in Hillary viewing you with contempt. A well-earned contempt I might add, but a contempt that can only distance her from your (and my) goals.

So what is the answer–well the answer is to listen to Bernie and to help Bernie. How tough is that? Actually not tough at all – stop acting like idiots and listen to your man! If Hillary is to secure Bernie’s support, your support, you must help Bernie achieve his agenda (which is not always totally different than Hillary’s). As it happens Bernie has provided his demands:

1. Completely revitalize the Democratic Party and make it a party of the people rather than one of large campaign contributors
2. Single-payer health care system, a $15 an hour minimum wage
3. $15 an hour minimum wage
4. Tougher regulation of the finance industry,
5. Closing corporate tax loopholes
6. This planet is in serious danger, take on the Fossil Industry
7. Enforce consistency on policy Issues and hold elected officials accountable

Yes it is that simple. But some will still try and screw it up and spoil it all by saying something stupid like Trump or Cruz would and make all these demands literal. On the first day of office we will end Obamacare, tear up the Iran deal, end all fossil fuels, have a single payer system and close down the big banks. Two polar opposite extremes always end up back in the same place— as best bosom buddies.

Bernie’s more fanatical fans must be somewhat pragmatic. Single payer does not have to come overnight –all one needs to do is create an option here and there and then let the market ensure that single payer wins the day (believe me the math is irrefutable.)

But you do not have to believe me on this or on any of the other issues—all you have to do is allow Bernie to do the negotiating.  Saying “Bernie or Bust” neuters Bernie by allowing status quo forces to put Bernie’s extreme fans in the same camp as Trumps fans.

So please stop harming Bernie, start empowering Bernie. Yes feel free to keep trying to achieve plan A, but also be there for everyone should plan B have to be triggered. To hold Hillary to account, you ultimately must be prepared to support Hillary. Come on – how difficult is that? This a women who has been being stabbed in the back by the vast right wing conspiracy since 1992. You really want to be put in that company? I have explained why Hillary might have become a somewhat flawed candidate here. Surely being better than a stupidparty disciple should be a no-brainer?
