According to The New York Times, FBI Director James Comey is pressing the Department of Justice to explicitly reject President Trump’s claims that former President Obama ordered his phones tapped. Comey reportedly made the request on Saturday but the DOJ has so far not released any such statement.
The claims appear rooted in reports on ‘Breitbart News’ and right-wing talk radio. Comey has a number of possible motives for pressing for such a public rejection, among which is setting the factual record straight.
When people use Breitbart news and other fake news sites as sources for information they must be ignored and censored. When the President of the USA uses such sources to accuse a former President of the USA of a crime, then that is libel, and the President should be ignored, censored and removed. The problem is, we do not want Hair Twitler impeached quite yet. I hesitate for two reasons: 1) He has not done enough to humiliate and actually harm his Trumpeteer fan base—and boy, do these people need to be humiliated and harmed (by harm I mean, let the 1% keep stripping them of everything they have, let them buy shares in JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, assuming that they are publicly traded, destroy clean water, labor rights, health insurance, Social Security, America’s reputation, democracy, etc.—they voted for that; and 2) Mike Pence is a radical anti-Christian Antichrist whose vile values equate to 80% of evangelicals (their values being the polar opposite of Jesus Christ—so let them burn) and Mike Pence is simply pretty damn stupid—a true conservative.
