The path to Deliverance from Stupidparty Land remains organically possible—but sadly an unorthodox intervention ultimately remains the most probable route to salvation. Winning the house will add that vital check to massive corruption and collusion at the top echelons of Government. But not gaining the Senate and thus not being able to secure the Bob Mueller investigation, could create a nightmare scenario of a President able to sit above the law on issues revolving around America’s national security interests, allowing the White House to be subjugated by bribery, blackmail and international criminal collusion.
Putting aside that specific nightmare, and few appear to understand how this is going to play out—there will now consequences for overt federal domestic criminal behavior, and there might now be consequences for conspiracy to commit fraudulent election suppression behavior—such as not having functioning voting machines, cherry picking how to manipulate voter rolls and the manipulation of the supposed eligibility of such votes. If Brian Kemp wins the Georgia Governorship, this would likely be the result of brutal and perhaps illegal voter suppression. Boston Globe columnist Renee Graham…

For democracy to survive, there must be consequences for any such domestic illegal behavior—and now there will be.
Over all 2018—America won, but still at a cost to its dignity. This was done against the backdrop of an expanding economy than has been on the same path since 2009—try explaining that to a Trumpeteer. Akin to Republicans winning in 2004, at a time when it was obvious to any critical thinker that the country had been misled into a likely illegal war— there seemed to be no worse crime than that; but then that outrageous behavior became the new normal, and that was destined to be trumped by the events of 2016—that cemented overt racism, misogyny, corruption, incompetence and the apparent irrelevance of treason; as the possible new acceptable norms of being an American. But it is that incompetence that billionaire Robert Mercer, key architect behind Trump, is actively trying to foster. So Mercer is still winning. The global face of America—transparent Stupidparty Land. Incredulous allies censure and chastise, enemies nurture and despise.
The 2018 election also had less visible success’s that provide glimmers of hope in areas where common decency seemed to take a disappointing turn. The horror of a rapidly sinking Florida, continuing to elect science deniers (although the Nelson and Gillum still have a significant chances and still need help), was mitigated by a ballot box initiative, aligning Florida with international standards and allowing about 1.6m more people the right to vote in 2020—per The Washington Post
“On Tuesday, a clear majority of Floridians voted for a ballot initiative that could potentially restore voting rights to as many as 1.6 million ex-felons. The proposal, listed as Amendment 4 on the ballot, means that felons who have completed their full sentences would be given the vote again, with the exception of those convicted of murder or a sexual offense.”
A key pillar of the Stupidparty master plan is an array of voter suppression cheats that include creating as many criminals as possible in order to disenfranchise. Thus 70m Americans have criminal records, America has the highest incarceration rate in the world costing the taxpayers $80 billion a year and now we have the deadly growth of private prisons being run on a for profit basis. This Florida ballot win is a huge kick in the face to the end result of those efforts, in such a swingy state.
Stupidparty has not needed any coherent strategy for solving many of the easily fixable problems that surround healthcare, mass shootings, excessive poverty, basic economic theory, consumer rights, epic political corruption and national security (the more the totality of other countries despise you, the less security one has) They do not need to even consider a Smartparty agenda that would be overwhelmingly popular, because they can still win by gerrymandering, voter suppression, absurdly overt lying, inciting fear and racism to massive swathes of fake and valueless Christians, and hordes of meat eating, conspiracy theorizing, cowardly fearful bigots. This is their “Death Star” coalition. The lies of the Stupidparty are 1,000% more voluminous than the Democratic Party. (See Chapter 3 of Deliverance from Stupidparty Land)
Meanwhile the rainbow coalition, while still ensnared, has scored some other vital gains that should mitigate some of the underpinnings of said Death Star. Voter Fraud by the voter is mathematically irrelevant, and people who are concerned about this are either ignorant or are allowing their possibly undetected bigotry to be subliminally inflamed enough to carry the water for voter suppression efforts. This is a US made problem—no politician, no willing voter, in the UK, ever need to suffer from such nonsense.
The gerrymandering fix in Pennsylvania netted 4 seats for the Dems. Colorado passed a law that should fix its gerrymandering, via nonpartisans, by the 2020 election. Cheerleader and chief for such massive ignorance was the Governor of Kansas and third rate lawyer – Kris Koback—and he is gone. Governor Walker of Wisconsin who found creative ways to cheat—gone. Connecticut elected Ned Lamont as Governor, who should be able to kill off the remaining remnants of Joe Lieberman’s intellectually corrupt legacy (A Stupidparty enabler and paid off to destroy of the public option, thus creating the less effective, yet still vital, Obamacare).
The Governor pick up in Nevada, should help ensure that Nevada is able to build a sturdy wall round future Stupidparty invasive infestations and the two swing rust belt states of Wisconsin (who lost top Stupidparty bulwarks in Walker and Ryan) and Michigan, should be able to free themselves from the stranglehold of the GOP—and evolve back to being pillars of something closer to logical behavior.
At least seven new Governors—all with the ability to begin rebuilding the basic integrity of elections—restoring a small degree of balance in the current black hole of a collapsing Democracy. Beto O’Rourke in Texas, lost, yet has helped change the face of Texas and likely changed how Texans perceive themselves. He has pointed the path as to how to translate the changing demographics, to a future Texas being blue. The day Texas becomes true blue—will be the day that deeply ingrained southern racism dies on the vine as a nationally pivotal political force—setting the stage for America to be free from such shameful shackles. Rust belt racism, that was less ingrained—thus some off that got scraped off in 2018—as it has begun to dawn on the less moribund working/struggling class white male, that they had previously elected a buffoon, with zero interest in helping them (they will soon be asked to foot the bill for the exploding deficit)—the ultimate and earth shatteringly transparent con man.
