Rubio Exposed

February 9, 2016 By Patrick Andendall 2 Comments

Rubio had a great story: a Cuban whose parents had escaped Castro’s leash, to then thrive in the USA. But what is it about nouveau American small town Norman Rockwell Icon wannabees that makes them so ashamed of their minority backgrounds, that they have to try extra hard to fit in with their new fair-weather white friends? Therefore, much like Jindal, Rubio’s tale also turned out to be tall—his parents leaving for America to seek economic opportunity well before Castro came to power. Worse it now appears that his grandfather came to the country illegally and his paper work remains in questionable.

Rubio is now lock-stock-and-barrel in step with the male dominated and misogynistic Roman Catholic Church dogma, he is a climate change denier, (he tries to deny it) and he would like to abolish the capital gains tax, the inheritance tax and have a flat tax—so he is the oligarchical wet dream. He will be well looked after and there is a great deal of money and power to be made as a Trojan horse and turning on your own kind as Jindal, Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas, Allan West, Alan Keyes, Roy Innis, Ken Blackwell, Michael Steele can all attest.

One day Rubio will wax lyrical about the environment, but overnight such sincere concern evaporates faster than a rain drop falling into a frying pan, when confronted with any type of opportunity:

But as soon as he jumped into the US Senate race, his love for Mother Earth faded. He stumped for a Palinesque pro-oil campaign called “Drill Here, Drill Now.” He ridiculed cap-and-trade emissions plans as “European-style” or “California-style” social engineering. And he attacked his Senate opponent, the moderate Republican-turned-independent Charlie Crist, as “a believer in man-made global warming.” “I don’t think there’s the scientific evidence to justify it,” he told the Tampa Tribune.

Like a weather vain, he is always determined to be pointing in the right direction at any specific moment in time—hence, his lack of substance, an ability to turn on a dime is deeply veined into his psyche. He observes that the climate is volatile, it “changes” and has catastrophes, something a five-year-old might observe—and having established his shallow knowledge, he can now vacillate in any direction. But the scary part of this mental age of a five-year-old intellect and apparent lack of self awareness is that he gets to say that all the climatologists are wrong. No, he’s determined to pour cold water on facts, drowning scientific facts.

You would think that an immigrant might have some understanding about racial issues, but not this Cuban American, who will abandon his very soul simply to be able to attack Obama on an issue that simply acts as a litmus test to whether some one is a bigot or not (Obama’s visit to a Baltimore mosque). But as the winds of bigotry ravish the American heartlands, Rubio surveys the landscape—he can score points with the hate groups that gather on the dark horizons. But Rubio’s position on the environment is actually worse than that of his idiotic colleagues, Rubio being one of the Senators for Florida.

The State of Florida juts out into the ocean. The average land elevation in Florida is six feet. NASA is already planning for when parts of its Kennedy Space Station is underwater.  Twenty thousand years ago Miami was 15 miles away from the ocean. In terms of exposed assets, Miami is the second most exposed city on the planet.  Four of Florida’s cities are in the top eight most exposed US cities to tidal surge, with Miami at #1. In recent years the daily high water market has been increasing by almost an inch a year—x10 the international average. Rubio is sent to Washington by the residents of Florida to protect Florida.

Rubio has a favorite climate soundbite on par with his standard intellectual benchmark— “The United States is a country not a planet.”  Hopefully the next sport for people who like to do video montages will be to assemble video clips of Rubio repeating the same meaningless sound bites over and over again. Yes Rubio, you are right, America is not a planet, but I would point out to you that Florida is not a country; it needs its country to look after its future. The fact that Rubio is playing the cheapest type of politics, enriching himself at the expense of his constituents, is criminally negligent. Miami is his home town, it is going down,—glug, glug, glug, but Rubio has stolen one of it’s few life boats, to embark on his solo voyage to Washington—abandoning the women and children on the Boardwalk.

Could he possibly get worse?

If any one has the slightest doubt as to why this notion is so toxic, you might want to see the video of Obama’s pitch perfect speech at this mosque, and then having considered both sides ask yourself, who is the better recruiting tool for America’s enemies? Rubio’s notion of making America great again is to turn America into an international pariah held in contempt by mankind. But do not worry, America will have an even bigger military—more aircraft carriers to protect us from a home grown or visiting terrorist who has embraced countering hate. Making people ignorant is a vital step to creating bigotry. Bigots inspire hatred to everyone they come into contact with.

But it is his amateur economic thinking along with a fickle, easily bamboozled intellect, with a fat dollop hypocritical behavior which is the bigger concern. Like a predictably guided sunflower, he will face his beaming charm to the nearest source of white American power. Yes of course his tax plan disproportionately benefits guess who…“The benefits of low tax rates on capital gains accrue disproportionately to the wealthy,” the non-partisan Tax Policy Center has written, “In 2013, an estimated 94 percent of the tax benefit of low rates on capital gains will go to taxpayers with cash incomes over $200,000, and three-fourths of the benefits will accrue to millionaires.”

What ever the issue, Rubio is the ultimate chameleon. He was a Catholic, then he was a baptized Mormon (only real suckers would fall for that claptrap) then back to being a Catholic, but attends Christ Fellowship, a Southern Baptist Church. Southern Baptists emphasize the significance of the individual conversion experience which is affirmed by the person having complete immersion in water for a believer’s baptism—I think it this willingness to routinely submerge disbelief— this is the hallmark of Rubio’s personality. It allows him to face in any direction, depending on the climate. I guess not seeing through the Mormon nonsense could be explained since he was young at the time (yet “he was fully into it”), but then you must consider how he got suckered into the whole Mike Huckabee is such a genuine guy bullshit and we can start seeing a pattern of someone who is just so voluntarily gullible and globs onto whatever opportunity happens to be at hand.

Rubio portrays himself as a fiscal conservative, but his easily gained credentials dissipates like fog on a sunny morning—for as it turns out Rubio is a fiscal conservative NIMBY (not in my backyard)

When he was state House speaker, the Republican Party of Florida issued Rubio and a few other party insiders corporate American Express cards…which they proceeded to burn up like a fresh can of Sterno…to the tune of $7.3 million. Rubio’s charges included a $134 bill from Churchill’s, a tony Miami hair salon “barbershop with $20 haircuts“; some critics have suggested Rubio used his card to pay for some special depilatory treatments.

Rubio insists he repaid American Express for personal expenses amounting to $16,000, but that leaves $94,000 that the party picked up—including repairs to his family minivan, thousands for a personal car rental, a Disney World vacation, tons of air travel, and repeat trips to a convenience store around the corner from the Rubio homestead. Politifact tried to parse out what the party paid for—a full listing of the charges is here—but the GOP’s paperwork was in disarray. It doesn’t help that the state party chairman at the time is currently in jail for skimming off the top from GOP accounts.

And for someone who has spent so much time gullibly walking from one fully immersive faith, policy position, to another—it is quite odd how the whole “values” stuff  falls off like water off a ducks back. As Mother Jones reports:

Throughout his political career, Rubio’s been called a corrupt wheeler-and-dealer by everyone from the Florida Democrats to Mitt Romney’s press secretary (see No. 8 below). Perhaps it’s the company he keeps. He’s been something of a mentor to Rep. David Rivera (R-Fla.) since they came up together in the state legislature—they went in together on a house in Tallahassee, which went into foreclosure when they failed to pay the mortgage. Rivera—who once forced an opponent’s campaign truck off the side of an interstate highway with his car—is now under state and federal investigations for a spate of financial corruption allegations, mostly focusing on nepotistic lobbying.

That’s something Rubio would know about from his days running Floridians for conservative leadership, a political committee that at one time or another employed Rubio’s mother-in-law and three other members of Rubio’s wife’s family. His wife was the treasurer; between them, they failed to report $34,000 of contributions in an 18-month period.

He’s also enjoyed a cozy relationship with state Rep. Esteban Bovo, who’s a lobbyist by day, and Bovo’s wife, also a lobbyist, who ended up on a couple of air trips with Rubio that were charged to that GOP credit card. Another young health care lobbyist, Amber Stoner, also shows up as a recipient of 10 paid flights with Rubio on his Republican Amex.

“Trying to untangle Rubio’s lobbyist and dark-money connections is like trying to flowchart Whitewater and Iran-Contra while eating spaghetti with chopsticks outside, at night, in the middle of a hurricane…

Rubio Exposed:

So it was a great moment in political history when Rubio was destroyed by Chris Christie in the GOP debate held before the New Hampshire primary. Here is the context—is it really asking too much to expect, to demand, that when Stupidparty leaders talk—that they are not perpetually lying (Ted Cruz)—that they are not acting as a recruiting tool for our enemies (Trump, Rubio & co/ISIS: ), turning America into a laughing stock (Trump, Carson) and that they are not robotically repeating soundbites designed by political consultants to ensnare the bottom end of the intellectual food chain, the rabid base who have been trained, been incited, to reject critical thinking, replacing it with myth inspired meaningless claptrap and raw bigotry. Kick the malfunctioning robot and it just keeps repeating itself.  This is the natural devolution of a party that has been feasting off ignorance and hate for far too long. For those few remaining critical thinking GOP loyalists that rationalize this hateful, sorry excuse for a political party: your empty puppet of the day has been exposed, frost bitten, you own the results, the waning days of Democracy itself. Winter is coming. Thanks a bunch.
