Rubio’s 25 Second Soundbite: Would it be Possible to Include Substance, Intelligence or Facts?

February 12, 2016 By Patrick Andendall Leave a Comment

This sound bite moment will go down in history as the most epic fail in debate history. But everyone is missing the bigger picture, and this is driving me nuts. Would it be too much to expect Stupidparty to say anything intelligent? Did you watch Trump’s acceptance speech after his New Hampshire primary? Evidently you can make America great just saying you are going to make America great. How the hell can America be seen to be great, when a buffoon gets to make shit up on the fly? Trump “I have many friends in New Hampshire”—I would love to see who these imaginary friends are. “I am going to deal with ISIS.” Donald Trump is the Jackson Pollock of politics—splash enough paint on the wall and find a following (my apologies to Pollock—for I am a philistine). In Trumps case, his following include nothing but intellectual zombies, his few friends must be sycophants, because you can not cross this narcissist. I love it, being able say I am going to deal with China, get China to assassinate the leader of North Korea, Putin is just a great guy, I will be the greatest jobs president of all time, because I am Donald Trump, and I say so—and idiots just lap it up.Rubio's soundbite fails for its failure to include anything of substance.

Now Rubio is trying to go for the supposedly rational elements of the GOP voter base. His touted campaign team surely devoted all their massive expertise preparing their candidate to appeal to this specific audience—the real Stupidparty base voter, the 67%. Every word of every soundbite designed to trigger the perfect animal response from their target audience. The soundbite that did Rubio in must have been their favorite soundbite. By studying this soundbite we can get to the root of how Rubio and his team assess their target audience, we can figure out what level of respect they hold, how they view the knowledge of their audience.

We will start by providing the full transcript (since these words will for ever live in the annals of history) of this now infamous memorized soundbite—divided into its seven key points.

RUBIO: 1) Well, here’s the response. I think anyone who believes that Barack Obama isn’t doing what he’s doing on purpose doesn’t understand what we’re dealing with here, OK? 2) This is a president—this is a president who is trying to change this country. When he talked about change, he wasn’t talking about dealing with our problems.

3) Obamacare was not an accident. 4) The undermining of the Second Amendment is not an accident. 5) The gutting of our military is not an accident. 6) The undermining of America on the global stage is not an accident. 7) Barack Obama is, indeed, trying to redefine this country. We better understand what we’re dealing with here, because that’s what Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders want to double down on if they are elected.

Point 1:

I think anyone who believes that Barack Obama isn’t doing what he’s doing on purpose doesn’t understand what we’re dealing with here, OK?

Deh!! Of course Obama knows what he is doing. He is a self-aware, very intelligent, rational human being who tries to execute his plans, his Rubio's jabs at Obama as someone trying to change America are both pointless and obvious.agenda as expressed in all his campaigns, speeches etc. there are no real surprises.

Point 2:

This is a president—this is a president who is trying to change this country. When he talked about change, he wasn’t talking about dealing with our problems.

Change the  country—i.e. rectify, improve, make progress. What president does not want to make changes? Obama inherited a financial meltdown—should he not want to change that? The numbers of people with out healthcare was sky rocketing—should he not want to change that? The planet is melting—should he not want to change that? America in 2008 was deeply distrusted, disrespected—should he not want to change that?

Point 3

Obamacare was not an accident.

Obviously it was not an accident—it took years of negotiation and compromise.

Rubio's statement that Obamacare didn't just happen "by accident" only goes to show the determination with which Obama approached the healthcare issue.

Point 4

The undermining of the Second Amendment is not an accident.

How has the 2nd Amendment been undermined? The only way the 2nd Amendment can be undermined would be through the Supreme Court or a Constitutional Amendment. Should the Supreme Court make any rulings on the matter then the 2nd amendment would still be 100% within the Constitution, that is how the constitution works. Secondly the President has not removed any guns from anyone.

Point 5.

The gutting of our military is not an accident. Barack Obama is, indeed, trying to redefine this country.

Polifact explains: There are two main reasons for the spending drop. The first is the Obama administration’s decision to start removing U.S. troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. The second has to do with a process known as sequestration.

Sequestration refers to the framework for automatic, across-the-board cuts to both military and non-military spending that were originally designed to force bipartisan negotiators in Congress to strike a deal in 2011. When negotiations fell apart, the cuts went into effect.

The bipartisan nature of the sequestration provision means that both parties are responsible.

The most recent Obama budget proposed a 7.8 percent increase in the base Defense Department budget between 2015 and 2016. The spending bill enacted this fall puts the defense budget on a path to start growing in fiscal year 2016, up about 6 percent from the previous year.

Would it be possible to put all this whining whimpering, whinging ignorant sloganeering into perspective? Of course it would, any one can; all we need are some easy to find facts. It just requires a tiny bit of research and intellectual curiosity.

The U.S. beats out all other nations by far in terms of military spending.

Point 6

The undermining of America on the global stage is not an accident.

Let us look at America’ global standing shall we: note that in 2008 when Obama won the election, inheriting the Bush mess, America was barely more trusted than Russia—since then, America has regained its status.

America's approval of its leadership has risen overall since 2007.

Americans might be blind, but for the rest of the world—for people who can actually see the forest from the trees—it is as clear as daylight. The numbers from the day Obama took office, till July 2015:

Foreigners viewing the U.S. favorably has risen drastically since Obama took office.

Point 7:

We better understand what we’re dealing with here, because that’s what Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders want to double down on if they are elected.

Well hopefully I have explained what is happening here, and by reaching such an understanding one would have no choice but to hope that we do not reverse course. Yes, of course Bernie or Hillary would look to build upon these foundations.

But here is the crux—how do Rubio and his advisers view their target audience? Hardly a tough question—they bank on their audience being uninformed, prejudiced and excited by total claptrap, incapable of doing even the simplest research. No, the Rubio team has nothing but contempt for their audience and plan to cash in before the audience attain self-awareness and realize that they have been duped by an empty suit.

Sadly, Rubio will be taken down for the wrong reasons. He will be taken down for exposing himself as a broken robot—but he will not be taken down by his dishonesty and total lack of substance. This is sad because this voting block will just be shepherded to a different establishment candidate, those that have not been caught with their pants down. The media is too feeble minded, too bent on ratings, on gaining access, that they will simply not do their professional duty to point out in the loudest possible terms that Trump, Cruz, Bush etc may not have been caught with their pants down, but that would be because they are not wearing any clothes.
